My Background and Philosophy

Linda Kurtz

Body & Soul Massage and Craniosacral Therapy

My Approach

I work intuitively and with careful attention to the whole of who you are. Depending on what you need and want, I can work with you on a physical level and/or on emotional and spiritual levels. I bring insight meditation techniques, trauma resolution work, and the energy techniques of polarity therapy into my sessions as needed, as well as my vast knowledge of the anatomy of the human body. I work together with you, the client, to provide you with what you need, whether that be relief from an aching back or tinnitus or the easing of long-standing depression. My clients have included doctors, lawyers, former pro football players, administrative assistants, priests, homemakers, psychotherapists, massage therapists, waitresses, pregnant women, children, sexual abuse survivors, and people with depression. I also work with pets.

A Little About Me

I have been practicing massage therapy since October 1995, after training at Irene's Myomassology Institute in Southfield, Michigan's first and oldest massage training school. I became a massage therapist because I love to teach, help others, and work with my hands and because, after receiving one of my first massages in 1994, I realized how profoundly physically and emotionally healing this work can be. I wanted to bring that healing to others.

What I love most about this work is the fact that it helps people change the patterns of their lives. We are dynamic human beings; we are always changing, our cells, blood, breath always in motion. Thus, even though a pattern has been set, it can  be altered. On a physical level, the muscle fibers can be moved, stretched, expanded, and a chronic pain eased. On a physiological level, energy can return and headaches cease. On an energetic and emotional level, people can begin to peel away layers that have held them captive, they can begin to make friends with unpleasant feelings and memories, and those feelings can start to transform.
